Panama City takes a holistic approach to urban planning that features sustainable transportation, energy efficient buildings and a zero waste aspiration, all of which head off air pollution growth in this expanding city.

Panama is going through a process of decentralization, giving the Municipality of Panama the responsibility for the territorial organization of the City and the chance to think about the City in an integral and long-term manner. While all our measures of air pollution currently meet standards for healthy air, it is important that we take this opportunity to build liveability, clean air and sustainable lifestyles into our future."
