On the 20th anniversary of Earth Day, Grammy award winning musician Ricky Kej, along with 44 musicians from six countries, will perform live in a concert in support of the World Health Organization and the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
Hot on the heels of the One World: Together At Home concert, the performance, which also includes five other Grammy award winners, will be showcased live on multiple streaming channels.
“My heart goes out to everyone who has been personally affected by COVID-19,” said Kej.
So, to support the global fight against the virus, Kej— a UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) ‘Land Ambassador’ and UNICEF ‘Celebrity Supporter’— decided to join forces with organizations such as WWF, United Nations Climate Change, UNCCD, UNICEF, UNESCO – MGIEP and the Earth Day Network to perform a mega-concert online.
“Globally, we are casting aside our differences and working together to defeat this virus and prevail,” said the internationally renowned Indian Music Composer.
The international lineup includes vocalists, instrumentalists and choirs from South Asia, Africa, North America and Southeast Asia.
They include Grammy nominated vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, engineer and producer, Lonnie Park, lead singer of the band Ten Man Push; American Grammy Winner and Hollywood voice actress Laura Dickinson, whose vocals can be heard in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, “Supernatural”; Grammy-winning South African flautist, producer and composer Wouter Kellerman; Grammy winning Hindustani classical music instrumentalist and creator of the mohan veena (slide guitar), Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt; and violinist and composer Manoj George, who performed as conductor, string arranger and choral arranger for the Grammy award winning album Winds of Samsara.
“During the concert, we will launch my new music video ‘Shine Your Light‘ dedicated to people around the world making a huge difference by being kind to one another during these dark times,” said Kej, who also holds the title of UNESCO MGIEP ‘Global Kindness Ambassador’.
