Paris is gradually moving towards a city centre off-limits to combustion vehicles by 2030 to tackle its main source of air pollution, traffic, supported by empowering citizens with knowledge of the problem and the means to act for a clean air future.
The City of Paris is convinced that air pollution represents a major health risk for all and that measures must be taken at all levels of society to raise awareness of the problems and act to improve health and well-being of all. We are committed to continuing the policy of reducing car traffic in the city centre, the development of alternatives to the car, and, in 2024, the removal of diesel vehicles in Paris."
