Maldives is guided by its National Action Plan on Air Pollutants, which comprises policies and mechanisms to monitor policies to raise awareness on air pollution and empower civilians and communities in combatting the detrimental effects of air pollution.

Until recently, scientific and political conversations around climate change and air pollution had taken place separately. However, it is increasingly recognized that both issues are closely linked.”
