Gossas, Senegal is a region of about 95,000 people. The Departmental Council of Gossas advocates for sustainable development and a green economy. Gossas is implementing solutions such as expanded solar energy, improved waste management and reduced open burning.
The region of Gossas advocates for a green economy with fewer emitters of greenhouse gases, as part of ensuring sustainable development. In terms of energy, we focus on expanding the use of solar energy in our region, better management of garbage and bushfires, and incorporating air pollution reduction education through a green school project. There are co-benefits of these actions that are equally important to the residents of our region, both socially and economically.
