The four county governments of the Dublin region, Ireland's first BreatheLife member, have committed to working together to meet WHO air quality guideline values by 2030, once again putting Dublin at the forefront of tackling air quality issues to safeguard human health-- this time alongside the interrelated challenges of climate change and sustainable development.
Hitting the target in the BreatheLife campaign will involve difficult and potentially unpopular decisions. So we’ll all need to be brave if we’re to make the right decisions for our city. While Dublin has largely eliminated some major sources of air pollution, others, particularly emissions from transport sector, have emerged as newer challenges. Our focus will be on getting these emissions down to protect the health of our citizens."
