The Chilean town of Chiguayante is part of Greater Concepción and home to about 80,000 residents. Chiguayante is part of a local effort to preserve biodiversity in the Nonguén Natural Reserve, a unique ecosystem. Since the forest’s wetlands are especially vulnerable to the contamination caused air pollution, Chiguayante and its neighbors are especially dedicated to the campaign for cleaner air.
Through Respira la Vida, Chiguayante will protect the forests and water bodies in the commune, promote the use of clean energy, and advance our local monitoring of contaminants to combat them more efficiently.
